The Harrogate Loop line from Leeds to York via Harrogate still retains much signalling interest despite modernisation. In 2012 Harrogate signal box gained a panel to control the line towards Leeds with the lost of Horforth and Rigton signal boxs. Towards York work is taking place to extend loops and introduce electrical token block to improve the movement of trains through the area. Semaphore signals and signal boxes remain.
