The line from Chester to Acton Grange Junction has a few signal boxes. First is the 1960's box at Mickle Trafford followed by the disused box at Dunham Hill No 2 built in the Second World War. Next are two pockets of semaphores at Helsby Junction and Frodsham Junction where traditional signal boxes exist. After this comes the small 1970's box at Norton.
