The line between Peterborough and Leicester has may signal boxes. Having diverged from the Midland Mainline at Syston Junction the first signal box is at Frisby Station although the station no longer exists. At Melton there is a station and a impressive signal box. Next is the out of use Saxby Junction signal box with the junction long gone. Then follows Whissendine, Ashwell and Langham Junction signal boxes all with level crossings. The line then arrives at Oakham where there is a signal box and level crossing. Next comes Manton Junction where the line to to Kettering diverges. Next are the signal boxes at Ketton and Uffington and Barnick both with level crossings. At Helpston the line meets the East Coast Mainline before running alongside it to Peterborough.
