86259 ‘Les Ross’ passes Atherstone with 1Z86 0924 Liverpool South Parkway to Wembley Central ‘footex’ for the Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday 25-02-2024. Problems with the overhead wires on the route to Weaver Junction led to the train being routed via Edge Hill, Earlestown and Winwick Junction and running 84 minutes down when it passed the assembled gallery of photographers. The fans had an hour to get in to the stadium before kick-off and came away happy with Liverpool wining 1-0. Also note Les Ross himself taking a photo of photographers.
