On Saturday 04-11-2017 156103 forming 2E82 1121 Blackpool North to Huddersfield service passes Kirkham signal box which is a Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway design built in 1903. It was formerly known as Kirkham North Junction. The box signalled its last train on 10 November 2017 and closed officially on 29 January 2018 with control of the line passing to Manchester Rail Operating Centre. The disconnected lines in front of the box are the former fast lines.
