The line from Birmingham to Wolverhampton has little signalling interest. Beyond Wolverhampton the line has only recently been re-signalled with The West Midlands Control Centre taking over. Before that a mix of old traditional boxes and British Railways designed boxes held sway. At Shrewsbury mechanical boxes and signalling remain.
